Morning y'all.

Got a funny story to tell about this morning...

I got up at 5.15, got dressed for work, looked a bit chilly outside so i put my big coat on (snowboarding coat) to walk to the car in. I arrived at the petrol station, put a full tank of juice in, pick up a paper and a bottle of Lucozade.
Get to the till, 'chip and pin out of order'......

Great, 'we can still swipe your card sir', 'seems to be a problem with your card sir, it wont swipe'

I only had this bankcard on me so nothing i could do,

'erm what do you want me to do like?'
'well they is a cash machine about half a mile down the road'
'no probs, give me a min'
'your not taking your car, it has to stay here'
'is that so?'

So there i am, ment to be in work in 20mins, 15mile from the office, Running to a fucking cash machine in a big jacket at 5.40am.

Surely it would of been a good idea to let people know on the pumps that it was only CASH ONLY??

I got back to the station and he was outside taking pictures of my car, like i was just going to leave a car and not pay him £38????

Anyway, so while you read with your breakfast just spare a moment for the poor guy running up and down the streets at stupid oclock.

thankyou lol

Haha, brilliant, wouldn't be happy with that, bit annoying having to pay £2 for using the cash machine. Happened to me once luckily there was a cash machine at the petrol garage, bit wierd about the pictures though.

i would like to know why he would of been taking pictures, there are cameras in petrol stations he wouldn't of needed to take any... thats so annoying when they charge you to take your own money out, don't we pay enough tax and stuff already

where i work is very close to a retail park, on there all the cash machines you have to pay £2 to draw any cash out. Think its bit of a joke.

£2 is a bit ott, even services on Motorways and around my way, the max you pay at an atm for using it is about £1.50 most times less.

I'm sure this has happened to Ash before where he's gone to pay and they don't accept Visa Electron and the cash machine was out of order. They just took his reg plate and description of car until he came back to pay. You don't pay they report you to the police.

I'd be ringing up and asking why you weren't given the option cos running that distance in a morning is ridiculous to say the least. If it was me I'd be speaking to a manager before I even thought about walking/running because I'm just a lazy git

really they shouldnt hzve made you walk to the cash machine or jog lol, they should have just got you to fill in a no means of payment form, this will give you 7 days to pay the petrol before your details are given to the police.

WHSmith mate;)

This actually happened to me once except there wasn't a problem with my card - unless you count having no money in my account as a card problem!

It was about 3 years ago when the banks had a big problem paying in peoples wages on time and my account was empty due to an overstretched holiday earlier that month!

Had to ring a mate to bring me some cash. That was fun:err:

what sort of garage was it!

You were under every legal obligation to walk away, you have the right to a hand written reciept and they do a manual copy of your card, they should have your reg and car on cctv anyway and they should have made you fill out an indebtness form and you pay it within a week.

That's what my old man had to do when he took the wrong bank card with him a few months ago. I had to laugh at him when he got back, would've been rude not to.
