Hi mate,

You have to declare to your insurer when you pass your test (otherwise your insurance becomes invalid); hence your insurance will then take into account that you'll be driving unaccompanied and is likely to increase. It may be worth shopping round to see if you can get cheaper quotes with a full license.

AS above^^, once you have passed you have no one to help you as such if a situation arises, and you are still a risk, so it rises. I think it will invalidate the policy if you don't tell that you have passed. Have a look www.endsleigh.co.uk or brentacre are pretty good. Adrian Flux has a discount with sax-p aswell.

i was with quin direct, on my first car a 106 1.1i. I rang them up to insure it on a provisional licence was 1175, just to practice for my test. Then when i passed (expecting to pay 200 quid more as i had quotes for when i had passed) told them over the phone and was not asked to pay anything extra :D

if i do that its £1400 tpft on my own policy.

so what do you reckon is the best own policy tpft or.....

on my mams policy fully comp

there both just about the same price.

Yea, fully comp will be better definatley, if you can afford comp it's worth it, but under your mum do you get your no claims bonus? Quinn said i wouldnt get my ncb if i was a named driver under my mum/dad! Aslong as i don't crash in the 1st year i should be alright.

well i was 19 and with a 1.2 clio paying 1.5k lol with a poo company tho a-plan insurance then about 1.3k at 20 for a 1.1 saxo in red :( so insurance is bad but then i had a poo company if u r staying with quinn fair enough but i think bell r good which who i wanna go with next atm with elephant who aint bad neither but soon as i passed i went on my own insurance no one elses that way u can build your no claims up yes it will cost a bomb on insurance for first year but soon as u get that one years no claims i really helps a bunch r sure u want insurance group 7 vtr tho as a first ? the 1.4 furio is a 5 and prolly a bit cheaper not sure how much cheaper tho tis up to you tho :)

ino what ur sayin but its only £200 cheaper 2 insure a furio 1.4 than the vtr so tbh id rather pay £200 quid more and drive a vtr.

neway thanks 4 ur advice x
