Battery light problem

Hi im new to this hoping someone can help me. got in saxo this morning and battery light remained on for full journey when got to destination turned off engine then on again and the light has still remained on, hubby going to look at it tonight, any suggestions??

could be the alternator belt snapped, alternator packed up, battery buggered or event the wiring messed up. i would go to your local car spares shop and get a free battery and alternator check done;)

no probs - just try not to drive too far and try and get it checked asap;)

just want to say thanks a lot problem now sorted......strangely I had no fan belt hubby says i must have heard it ping but I swear I didnt:P
