if i bought a vtr engine that had done say 30k but the clocks on my car say ive done 85k, and i then put the engine in, could i rewind the miles to 30k.

is this illigal?

or is there a proper legal way to do this??

I would of thought that it is illegal as you're concealing the mileage of the car. The mileage states the mileage of the car and not the engine. If you wanted to display the mileage of the current engine then just get the clocks from the same car.

but if you stated that you had done or where doing this, and informed the correct ppl, ie dvla nd all that then surely there would be a problem??
