i cut mine a bit bigger though, as when i made my box, i covered it in some thick cloth, and then a layer of suede so it was spgoney to touch and felt nice. only cost about £10 lol
edit - well that was the size i used for my SX, SE, and matrix elite

How a made my old twin box for two 10" subs is to cut the hole out slightly smaller than 10" then place one of the Subs into box to see how it fits then cut hthe hole bigger if need be.

Thats cool but i want to finish the box tomorrow so when i buy a sub in a month or so i can just fit it straight into the box without having to take the box back out of my car to cut the hole.

The box im making has to be a wedge shape so im not sure if i can still make it ported.

Height = 17"
wide = 44"
D1 = 14
D2 = 5"
Is it still possible to port the box?
Thanks for the help aswell:y:

hmm...
well you cant have it sealed mate. the sub wont like that at all, and its not recomended to have it sealed...
umm, i can port the back face - but cant work out how to port the front...
i guess the smaller the height, the wider the top can be... for example, the 5" max onlys applie at a max height of 17... so if it was only 14" high, it could be 7" wide... not that this info helps at all lol :-\
Dunno what to do mate... you might need to find some one with a pukka box calculator to work that out.
for that sub, the optimum specs are: volume = 2 cubic feet, tuned at 33Hz
the compact specs for the sub are: volume = 1.5 cubic feet @ 35Hz
cant be much mroe help im affraid

I can change the width of the box because at the moment the box will be 3.05 cubic feet.But as i want the box to fit in between my roll cage the height has to be 17" and the bottom depth has to be 14" and the top depth has to be 5".But how can i port the back face of the box?
Here is a good link for a box calculator.

Could i not use a aero port as im making a wedge shape box?
Edit;I have a picture of how someone else made there wedge shaped box ported but how big would i need the port if i made my box 2 cubic feet and also where would i cut the hole in the box to let the air flow out.?

if you dont mind having the port and sub on that side, i can do that for you... :)

I dont mind where the port is as long as its not on the side of the box,and the sub must be on the sloped side.
If you could design me a wedge shape box with the;
Height;16.5"
top depth;5"
bottom depth;15"
And the width is not that important as you can decide how wide the box has to be to fit the port and still keep it 2 cubic feet that would be great and much apprecidated!!!:y:
Would it be better to design a box like this??
