View Full Version : fuel pump works, but doesnt pump

well i though that i needed replacing so took it out and connected directly to the battery and it worked a treat so put it back in postion and connected it up and it aint working?
ive checked the, fuses,relays, wiring conection, earthing.
anything ive missed??
normally when you turn the ignition on you can hear it pumpin but u can??

forgot to had check for blockages in fuel line aswell.

You definitely got the right relay? Try running a direct feed to the battery to test the pump in situ
The 205 has a tachtronic relay which controls the fuel pump off the ignition so i'd imagine the saxo will have something similar

Have you knocked the fuel cut off inertia switch in the engine bay?

when you say you took it out and connected it up how long did you run it for because if they run dry they will just sieze ?!

ran with like a few seconds.
but the strange thing is we had its going the car was running for 10mins then turned it off came back bout 6 hours later and it wouldnt start.
