guys, i got a mk1 vtr and was intereseted if anyone would know what bhp my car could be pushing. I got a 'ram air' air filter, straight through exhaust system, and de-catted. my mate reckons its around 105bhp, is this a fair assesment? or a totally random guess?

was thinking about it, then again i am thinking about getting a bonnet scoop (prob get whole new bonnet), front h/lights replaced, leather interior, new steering wheel, flushing the tailgate. Its gonna be a case of seeing how much money I got after x-mas and taking it from there. think i am gonna get tailgate done, bonnet done and h/lights. + modding engine more = higher insurance premiumssmileys/smiley19.gif

WalzVTR - Tell me about it. I've ordered my plazma dials + I'm savin for my new bonnet at the mo, should be on after xmas. You defo got to change the steering wheel, standard one looks horrible!!!

After I've got my new bonnet on I'm startin on the engine, I need MORE POWER so I can smoke people away! I get so many people wantin to race me it does my head in, when they see a car like mine they drive right up my ass then try to over take me.

Had sum stupid bird in a old shape xr2 revin like mad behind be at the lights the other day so I smoked her, got round the corner and couldn't see her in my rearview mirror looked in front of me and I could see blue flashin lights so I slowed right down then all I hear is her skiddin down the road behind me! I had to swerve out the way so she didn't go in the back of me! Old bill stopped and I just shot off! don't know what happened to her? smileys/smiley5.gif

Is there a rolling road out Thornbury? Where you can take the car and get a full print out, i.e its top speed and bhp etc? Also get the car performing to its maximum potential?

Yeah there is m8, its called Interpro. Think its behind thornbury swimming pool. To get just a read out of your cars performace I think its about £30 but if you want it mapped etc its anything from £125 upwards. When you thinkin of going out? I'll come up there with you, would be interesting to see what my car is putting out?

Avoid interpro like the plague. They are well dodgy. Basically you take your car in for a rolling road session they ask what sort of power you're hoping for and........ hey presto! You get it! They just program the machine to give that specific read-out.

When i was in the xr owners club several members had their cars "tuned" there. Knackered engines, bad workmanship etc, etc.

Believe me, interpro are shite. My old man was in the rs owners club and went there for a rolling road day. When they saw how they treated the cars on the rollers half of them refused to let them take their cars on!
I'd always thought they were good but soon had my eyes opened.

There are quite a few down this way. Powerstation in cheltenham (also got a bit of a dodgy reputation), Mech Repairs, Motorsport Engineering in Ross on Wye, theres one in Tewkesbury somewhere and Severnside Motorsport are getting one installed sometime, they're just up the road from me.

Simota airbox, supersprint fannymold, magnex decat, custom straight through mid section, magnex backbox.
It's a 90 bhp version, but it already had 97.2 bhp when it was totally standard.

Not that much.. I usually lift when I reach 180 km/h (112.5 mph) as I'm a bit scared for the police.. though I did drive 235 kmh (147 mph) with the Leon a few weeks back. Could've gone faster too as I was still in 5th and the car has got 6 gears, but I was driving behind a mate in his VTS and he couldn't go any faster hehehe

I been waiting for you to come on here mate. did abstyling flush your tailgate? you said it was about £250 dint you? and did they do the solenoids with that as well?

I bought it on saturday and haven't even played it yet!!!

Yeah they done all the work on the motor but I wouldn't bother goin to them if I were you, the kit is bodged on the tail gate looks alright but could be better, the only thing that looks like a really good job is the side skirts! Me and my dads m8 are takin the bumpers off and making our own brackets so they fit better + we need to take the spoiler off and put some spacers on it cus it rubs on the body work! Prob better off tryin somewhere like avon customs?
