Of particular interest to most is the re-mapping of standard ECU's
As has been discussed before, Dastek's are not the ideal solution.
They are essentially 'fooling' the car into altering it's fuelling and igniton characteristics rather than working from the raw ingredients used by the manufacturer and researched at a cost of millions.
Fitting a Dastek Unichip also involves adding extra electrical connections and extra hardware which can go wrong.
Although they are far from the worst solution in the tuning world, allowing a 'map' tuned to your car and the advantages gained from that, the points above are still valid. No other solution was freely available, until recently.
Jamsport offer re-mapping of standard ECU's, a neat solution involving no extra hardware, that is undetactable by the manufacturer's garages. It allows the map to be tailored to the exact car and the exact modifications on the rollers both under load and off throttle + it allows rev limits to be changed so that the power extracted by the new 'map' is useable.
This has already been a massive success with many NA 'cammed' cars, which were able to produce the power they always promised.
Boosted applications can also be mapped in the same way, albeit with uprated parts such as a fuel pump and larger injectors.

I am not directly affiliated with Jam Sport in any way and in fact first came across their work by chance.
