saxo 1.1 temp light / fan problem

Hi All

I have a saxo 1.1 x reg 2000
the problem is that the temp light comes on and then the fan but then never goes off !!!
The only way i can get the light off is too connect my fault scanner and it resets
Is the fan supose to come on befor the light comes on ?

hi, i have a 2000 1.1 too, i am told by citroen that its doing exactly what its suposed to do, the highest temperature i get is a touch over halfway, at which point the fan kicks in to bring it back down to under halfway. when i first got mine that temp was reading very high, and later found out the head gasket had gone...just something to bear in mind

no fan should kick in before light. the light means its too hot

I thought the light shouldnt come on !
Ive changed the temp sensor, does anyone know what the problem could be ???
