Hi there folks, new to the site and this is my first post, however I am in need to some urgent help if possible.
I have a 2001 Saxo Furio 1.4i. It has no modifications to the engine other than a K&N filter.
Yesterday the engine started to shudder whilst driving and when I cam to a stop the engine cut out completely as if stalled. After much effort I got it restarted but when the revs dropped down to tick-over it just cut out again. In order to get it home I had to sit at every set of lights and junctions with the revs at about 3000 rpm to stop it cutting out.
Last night I cleaned and oiled the K&N filter in the hope that was the problem. I refitted the filter today and it started ok and got me to work. When I got back from work today it started to shudder again a threatened to cut out. I turned off the engine and restarted and again once the revs dropped down below 1000rpm it just cut out. I also noticed the rev counter bounces down rather than just dropping smoothly.
I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this and any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
