Morning guys,

Going to be doing an oil change this afternoon. I've done it a couple of times before on my car, just wondering how long do you normally have to wait to get warmed up oil out of the sump. It seems to take absolutely ages. Wasn't sure if there was a way of getting it out a bit quicker?

Think thats all, cheers :)

raise the car up at one end so that the oil runs out quicker. think i raised mine at the front as the sump hole is facing back of the car.

I let my car run for a few minutes then turn it off, so that it's flows out easier, rather than gloopy and take ages.

dont think you can speed it up much - but as said - lift the car from one side at the front so its slightly angled - Ive got a few pics of it in my progress thread i think....i'll jus chek

I done an oil change 2 weeks ago, it drained in about 5-10 minutes.

Same here, did mine in about June I think. Run car for 2 or 3 minutes, remove sump, and jack front of car up a little like I suggested earlier.

Haynes manual sugests the "warm car up" method..

If you jack it up makesure you have the car level on axle stands or something so all the oil comes out, if one side is higher than the other not all will come out..:y:
