What's the best way to do this? it's only dusty so do i spray it with water, will i need to wax it again if i do, or just give it a wipe with a cloth.

Any help appreciated. :y:

I believe if you used a good wax and let it work properly, then you can just wash normally with a gentle shampoo, as it shouldn't cut through the wax.

the idea of putting wax on is to give the paint a coat of protection i think.

true after polish and sealant, use some Quik Detailer or just a gentle wipe

Less abbrasive shampoo, 2 bucket method rinse and dry. Apply your sealent/wax. Or as said give the panels a quick run down with some quick detailer and microfiber cloth, it will add depth and shine to your paint but quick detailer will not last. Good for shows in my opinion when you are in a bit of a rush to get things moving.

Spraying it with water is not the way to do it, you need a shampoo to break down the deposits what have been gathered on the paintwork. Just using water won't really do much if you have waxed the car.. the chances of inflicting swirls will be very high if you do this.

Would a wash and wax shampoo not replace any wax that happens to come off?

Technically you should be able to just light shampoo the car and dry it and it will be fine, but sometimes you get the odd streak so it's always good to go over the car with a quick detailer afterwards, or a sealent/wax if you fancy it :)

Dust won't go away from driving Scott.. it sticks to the paint and stays,

feather duster :panic:

I have a pink one that I use at work to dust the kitchen worktops, I get some odd looks from customers and a few sexy looks from young men :homme:

i always wax after i have washed the car. go around rubbing in the wax, leave for 10 mins, then get a soft cloth and go back around. comes up like a beaut.

I clean my car when i can be asked..Wax it twice a year if its lucky, but still comes up beautifully..

When i do wash it though i really go to town with it..But i tend to concentrate on the underside of my car, thats more important to me..
