Hi,
I've just got a saxo and yes its only a 1.1. when i got it it was very responsive and now 1 week later it kinda judders or feels like it has gaps in the gas (if you know what i mean) the only thing i have done to it is add some oil as it was low. i used halford 15w-40w in the big purple container. it wasnt the most expensive like . coiuld this be the problem.

also it occasionally dies at traffic lights (low revs) and i have to start it again....any ideas?

lastly i have fitted rear speakers but as soon as i did it made the back ones fuzzy unless i change the fade to all front......oh and the back ones are fuzzy too specially at any tyoe of volume ....

please help!!!!

I cant see why putting oil into the car would make a big difference, maybe completly wrong. My pug 205 done this to me all the time, just changed the spark plugs and it was fine. But the problem could be down to a few things.
Do you have 6 speakers on your car then? Did you remove the standard saxo rears? 6*9s?

how much oil did you put it in? did you overfill it?

yeah the rear speakers where already out when i got the car. To be fair i have fairly cheap speakers in the rear at teh moment as i was just checking the wiring. but they worked fine in my other car.

another thing someone might know about...

im fitting a VTR spoiler to the car and was wondering if im using spoiler adheasive without the screws do i need to sand off the paint from the part im putting it or will it hold touching the paint....just scared ill have a great seal but the paint will come off and the spoiler with it at high speeds

My car began cutting out when I was at a stand still, do you find it hard to get up hills? What gear do you climb them in? The speaker will be down to the fact you have crappy standards and so wanna push more sound through them and they can't stand up to it like the 6x9's.

Cheers

What do you mean, "putting it straight on paint will be fine"?

yeah well its a 1.1 so i imagine it will be hard getting up hills .....only had it a week so not really tried ...this i did struggle to get up one bank and had to go in first

erm well do i need to sand the part down where the spoiler will be glued to or can i just seal it straight on......just i was worried there may be a great seal between spoiler and paint but when if paint flakes/pulls off

Check ya spark plugs. My VTR use to do this. if i tried acclerating it use to judder like it was goinf to stall. If i then pushed accelerator to the floor and hold it there, it eventually picked up speed and then was ok.

I had a lose spark plug so it wasnt firing properly. Changed the lot and never had the same problem again.

Are the revs at all high when your accelerating? Maybe best to sand the spoiler down a bit first to make sure it sits flush, so you may have to spray the spoiler up again, don't quote me on that though.

changed the spark plugs and fear i snapped something when changing the last one (closest to drivers side) i have to remove a U shaped tube between the engine and air filter and didnt realise there was a third connection ....think i may have snapped it off..it sits back on but dont know what it is or what its for

DO NOT TURN IT ON IF YOU HAVE SNAPPED SOMETHING ON THE SPARK PLUG.

The engine will have to rebuilt, you can't drive it with something rattling around in there, it will have to be stripped down and rebuilt.
