don't slate me but...

does and airlock/not bleeding the colling system/not using antifreeze affect the fan kicking in?

just fitted a new rad, but haven't got any antifreeze (not using the car till i have some), so anyway i topped the car up with water...let it run to check for leaks and what not.... car got to 3 1/4's on the temp gauge but the fan didn't kick in?

coolant sensor was hot... everything was fine before? could the above be the prob? just cant see how the above can affect the fan? i thought the fan would of kicked in too soon etc etc?

only asking because the cars in bits and i'd like to know before it goes back together...save the hassle of taking her back to bits, slag.

when you fit a new radiator, you will have to bleed the system through afterwards.

sorry.

poorly thought out thread.

really all i wanted to ask was, shit coolant/airblock/no bleeding affect the fan coming on?

as i thought regardless of what the cars doing, it gets hot, fan comes on?

yes not bleeding the cooling system, and not using antifreeze will cause an air lock in the system, so the fan may not come on when it is supposed to.
