urgent help needed

i have just changed my spark plugs and i think i may have snapped something!!!!

TO FIT THE SPARK PLUG NEAREST TO THE PASSENGER SIDE I HAD TO REMOVE A RUBBER THING THAT ATTACHES TO THE ENGINE AND WHAT I THINK IS THE AIR FILTER..

I didnt realise there was another smaller piece attached to it underneath and i think i snapped it off....it sits back in but kinda looks like it was fastened in ...any ideas what ive done?

its a round tube that goes between the air filter and engine it pulls off at both ends then goes back on its U shaped and at the pinnikle of the U is where the little bit is connected....the connection hugs the part it fits into but looks like it should click in .....thats the bit i may have snapped

Ok can see what youve done. As Im not very good with engines, it would be helpful to know what car you have, year, etc!

its a saxo i 1.1 1999

does the car start ok? sound different at all? Is it plastic? may aswell get some glue and just secure it back up.

Looks like lead from the coil to the spark plug? :S If its snapped off you'll need a new coil pack.

Nah its not that, it doesnt have a coil lmao. My bad just noticed.

I sent my brother in law the picture (who is a mechanic) he said he wasnt sure but it looks like a tube that recycles the gas fumes through the air filter.....the car is running fine but i think im gonna get my self to a scrap yard on the weekend andsteal a working part.

if anyone else knows what this is please let me know
