as above, am looking at a vxr which is the flame red which is a single coat solid paint, the later models come in power red but is 2 coat solid paint?

anyone know the difference between 1 and 2 coats?

as its a solid colour and a red i know that i will need to keep it nice and polished to stop fading etc just wondered if there were any major drawbacks?

i dont 100% know the answer but it would seem that they are both the same paint but one of them has an extra coat than the other

basically 2 coat, as you say, means the car is painted then lacquer sprayed on afterwards (about 10 minutes or so)

however single stage paint is the paint, hardener and lacquer in the spray gun at the same time, so its sprayer in one go

one coat paint - fades if neglected

two coat paint - doesnt fade as its lacquered, i think they call it twin-pack.
