Where'd you get your grill from mate?

Personally I wouldn't get your paint from halfords, just get grey primer and and clear lacquer from them. There is a good place online I can't think of the name of the place but if you email Predator_VTR he will be able to tell you. Did my mates grille the other day and they are easy to do.

FurioGaz try ebay, they do Saxo grilles on there for a pretty good price, or you can use yours and make up your own.

yer the paint is alright but the measuring tools that halfords use are shit and are way out of calibration. and when u do a metalic paint well it dont look very metalicy unless they put lots of the number 042 item which i add alot cos it makes it look a proper original paint

May sound like a stupid question, but can i still access under my bonnet? The only reason i ask is the latch is in the current grille and as it's mesh will i be able to access this?
What do i need to swap them over? Is it just a few screws?
Cheers

My how to guide for meshing and colour coding a mk2 grill (shows you what you need to do to still be able to access the bonnet release catch):
http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67162
Removing the grill from the car is easy, open bonnet, 7 torx screws need to be undone, then it can just be popped out.. and the reverse to fit the new one :y: it's really really simple!

oooooohhh mk1 grill... completely different ballgame lol..
Open bonnet.. undo the four 10mm bolts that secure in the tops of the headlights and grill...
then disconnect the indicators, you need to pull them away from the headlight, and keep gently wriggling until it pops out, then you can undo the cable and the indicators fully off.. do the same with the indicator on the other side... then if you look at the far ends of the grill there is a small plasic clip that attaches the grill to the front wings, you just need to pull it up and it comes straight off... then the grill should be free just to pull straight out.. but you'll need to work your way along putting your hand behind the grill as there are several locator posts to make sure the grills sits properly on the car...
And then once the grill's off the car.. to remove the black plastic part if you wanted to mesh it, it is simply torx screwed onto the grill...

Exactly as stated in my last post #24
But you'll need to take the eyebrows off the headlights before you can remove the indicators...

Thanks in advance!
