Tomorow im starting work on my new floor for my boot. I had a few ideas of what way i was going to put the sub in. I was thinking about putting the sub into the actual floor and covering it with some sort of grill so it doesnt get damaged. Any opinions on this? or does anyone know a reason why this wouldnt work?

yes sub would be facing up situated in the corner. I was wondering because i know underneath the crappy bit of carpet in my car at the moment is metal, would this have an effect?

yep, thats what im basing mine on, pretty much an exact replica. Its because im getting the sub off a friend but without a box and i know a box isint exactly expensive to buy. but it also gives a bit more space in the boot

yeah mate go for it, thought you were on about building the box actually into the floor, that way you would have to be careful of the box size (you do with ones you buy but there better than nowt at all)

Where is the best place to buy JBL from? My head unit is a sony explode and is 50 x 4. Its a good enough Head Unit and was half price at the time in Halfords but will it be powerful enough to run a decent sub and amp. Its the KP-GT300SIP

ebay for JBL gear mate, can get some good deals on there :y:
headunits amps are crap, there more like 4x18 watts, and tbh sony arent the best headunits in the world, alpine, clarion, and pioneer seem to be the best about, and not overly expensive

Hmm, well i dont plan on getting a new head unit as i cant afford one and this one is only 2 months old. Im looking at the good old student loan to do most of this work haha. Well with that wiring kit from ebay, some JBL amp and sub (if affordable) sitting in that floor running of that headunit should sound decent enough right???
