the 650 isnt freaking cheap!

the 650 is the alarm, not price.

i got the toad ai606 off ebay for 80 delivered, brilliant bit of kit. although this was on my punto gt.

fitted it myself, a proper shop would charge you about 50 quid

what about an imobiliser? would they charge about the same? and does it bring the insurance down that much? im paying a fortune on mine at the moment.

If the insurance company ask for a security system on the car then ask them if it will make a difference. DONT say "i have an alarm on the car already will it make my insurance cheaper" as they just see that there is one already on the car and you are not going to take it off so thats when they sat no. I have found now days that the only thing the makes your insurance cheaper is a tracking system like the RAC trackstar that i had to put on my BMW or i was not insured if some twat nicked it an alarm would not have made any differance.
