help, fuel cap

well, i have a new fuel cap and i have fitted it no problems, but i cant gte the key out of the old 1, its only a spare so not a major issuse, it comes out if you put it back into car so its not stuck, and yer i have tryed turning it first. anything i can do, many thanx

There should be a white plastic ring on the back of the fuel cap, on the mechanism itself. You need to turn the key and watch how the mechanism works, once you have figured it out you should be able to manipulate the mechanism with the screwdriver (simulating the turning of the key) You wont get the key out if you turn the key though. If you do it right you should be able to pull the key out whilst activating the mechanism. You need three pairs of hands to do this, its really hard to explain in writing.
