My mate went out in his dads 06 octavia last night (his dad was out and he's not insured on it) and put it over a kirb at about 30mph, result a blown tire, bent alloy, cracked bumper and engine casing hanging off the bottom of the car. :panic: :panic:
Went round to have a look and he looked like he was about to cry had like 2hrs before his dad got back havnt spoke to him since lol

There are very few options here, either the father claims on his insurance, and says he was the driver, or he claims off the son. If the son is not insured, then there will be a little matter of "taking without owner's consent" to deal with, and many parents would wish not to see their child with a criminal record. On the other hand, maybe a visit to the magistrates may be the kind of wake up call that is needed. Either way, he's deep in it and it's not going to end up happily.
Skodas had a bad press in the seventies and eighties, despite their prodigious rally pedigree. I'll now let you into the realities of Skoda ownership. I've got a seven year old Octavia Tdi, 120K on the clock and it's the best car I have EVER owned. It takes me, Mrs V and two Vidalettes plus bikes, tents, luggage everywhere. It has its faults, the central locking solenoid is sticking in the front passenger door, the temperature gauge sender is faulty and there is poor am reception on the radio. And that's it. Two brakelight bulbs, front pads every 40K and a timing belt and water pump change at 70K, have been the sum total of replacements. Never less than 45 - 50 to the gallon (with the aircon on all the time), good for cruising all day at 70+, build quality is superb - I normally change my cars more often than my shirts, this one will be driven until it falls apart, then I'm straight off to buy another one. A positive recommendation? Certainly is.

my friend did something like this.
We had a 13 hour drinking session in leeds one weekend.
He got home, saw a cilo on the drive drabbed the keys and went out in the car. He had never driven before. had no licence, insurance, car was taken without owners permission and was over the drinking limit. He got to the end of the street (25metre) and binned it straight into a wall.
Car turned out to be his sisters best friends brand new cilo.
Got a huge fine, CS and is still band now (was over 2 years ago)

Skodas are top.
I'd love a Fabia VRS. They are quick because Police use the Octavia VRS diesels.

That’s a wrong assumption. the fabia vrs does 0-60 in 9.2 seconds but the ocavia vrs does 0-60 in 7.6 or 7.7 seconds depending.
Octavia's are pirtty quick

turn up in your car. Pull the handbrake to park out side his house.
Ring the door bell
Face away from the door.
When you hear it open shout:
"Look, ive learnt those skills you were showing me!"
Turn round, feel awkward. feel smug inside :)
