My last car was an escort. It was old and battered and so i didnt care about cutting it to bits to mount my tweeters. But i am reluctant to cut my door cards in the vtr or mirror adjuster plates.
Any hints/tips on fittings them, such as, where do you put them? Pics of completed installations would be nice.
Thanks:y:

thats how i was going to do mine, good idea imo
best thing to do is put some blu tack on the back of the tweeter and try it in different places, remember its your ears and only you will know where best to mount them :y:

How did you make the mount for the tweeter? It looks really neat! It looks as though it was made like that! Good work!:y:

Thanx for the compliment.
The reason why i chose this spot is, you don't have to drill holes in the interior and for the sound is this a really good place.
I made it from aluminium on a lathe [i hope it that this is the right word for it,my english is not so very well] i work in a metall factory.
The tweeter fits really tide now in the hole,so you don't have to glue it or something else

think he means the actual pod, its a gauge pod which you can buy from most places, like ebay, i have one for my volt gauge and you can also get both left and right sides, RGM are the manufacturers iirc

So are 'most; tweeters the same size as a pod its 52mm or 56mm iirc

doubt it mate, i think he has made some mounts for them aswell, tbh you could always attac
h a bit of mdf on the underside of the pods hole then mount the tweeter, some good glue should hold it on and a tweeter isnt exactly the heaviest thing in the world

yeah was thinking that or a huge washer with a big enough gap in the middle or something, well i may aswell give this a bash before atticking things and drilling them, oh pred btw got a 4channel mutant amp (briged 2 channels for each sub) and a 2 channel one (for components) brand new in box for £40 today, was quite happy with that! and got rid of the 6x9's :D Just have no idea what wiring i need with fueses and all that stuff haha!

Oke,and yes the pillar mounts are from RGM.
The orginal holes are 52mm,so i mounted the tweeters in a aluminium ring that i make.
