Excellent cars.

Get one.

Or get the tractor version, capable of 140 mph and 50mpg.

My dad has got a 2001 Octy vRS with 180bhp. It's covered 125k miles from new and has never missed a beat. Cambelt lasted around 100k miles. Its a trooper of a car, solid as fook, and has plenty of toys. Looks sophisticated yet sporty, drives absolutely beautifully. Alot quicker than you'd expect, many owners have done the 0-60 dash in 7s dead. Top speed, needle hits 150, (done that twice in Germany with a boot full of luggage and 3 passangers, totally std!), although reality more like 145-147ish. Even when full-up it easily smokes my VTS lol! Engine is unbelievably good. Surprisingly fun to drive too, handles neatly, plenty of torque. Regularly returns 37mpg plus. What more could you want tbh.

Great cars, generally reliable

The coil packs sometimes let go on earlier versions - a common V.W fault

Pretty quick too ....... :y:
