Is it me or does it seem that fairly recently saxperience has had a massive influx of Newbies that think this is a "brag about racing" and "I drive like a tw@t" website?
Seen quite a few threads recently where Newbies have gone in at the deep end with stories of their misfortune or stupidity and just been torn to pieces by the more regular users.
I'm sure we've all said some things on here at some point that has caused aggro but it just seems so much more frequent now.

Just thinking though, saxp has, I'm sure a good reputation for being a site that doesn't condone speeding/twatting around on the roads, and the last thing I personally would like to see is Saxp being tarred with the same brush as "Cruising" and "racing" websites.
All I'm saying is it seems to be more frequent of late
Vinny_VSX
27th September 2007, 12:59
I don't use this forum very much, but I have noticed that as well. I think it is mainly down to the fact that there is now a fair few local cruise websites, in which they quite regulary discuss what they have raced on the roads etc. Personally I am not really bothered by these lads, as one day karma will come around and bite them right in the arse :)

I can assure you that i have not had a race in my car what so ever.. Yeah i've been on aerodrome's but their not streets so i'm not a street racer/boy racer.
I treat cars that i've had with respect as Vinny said Cars aint a toy to be racing around streets because you will get bitten in your arse...
I think todays people who get cars just pass their test to compare what they have got which encourages Racing..
Where i live we get 1.0i Micra's 95 models trying to race Evo's and Subaru's and yes they are hoodies.. but they think it's fun.. Police should actually do more to stop this because there is many twats in my area with saxo's ranging of all models and most of them seem to be wankers with lexus lights and go faster stripes.
But refer me to a newb you have obviously got the wrong picture from what i do in my car!

Nha i know you wasn't pointing at me but i know what you mean people get a car and sign them up to a website and basically say whens the events i wanna race or take it to the streets!
Police are shiyt round here your doing 30 and the feds are behind you and a piaggio 50cc over takes you doing 40-50 and they just carry on behind you as soon as you miss a signal "your on a caution boy" But yeah see your point on this topic!:y: :y:

I think there is a slight difference between inadvertantly breaking the speed limit and racing etc
I will be the first to admit that I do occasionally speed (hence the 3 points I have and the recent speed seminar I had to attend due to being caught doing 46 in a 40 zone), but I don't drive like a tw@t and advertise the fact on a public forum!

Excessive speed in built up traffic, enticing racing, people that think they are driving a rally car when in fact it's a 1.0, drivers that are unable to read the road and conditions, inexperienced drivers that think they can drive better than they actually can, and so on and so on.

I personally think that a few of you on here get it confused.
Right you get the odd newbie saying they have done some high-speed thingy or what ever and you all kick off, fair play - but these members may/may not be proud of this, and there’s no reason to go telling them there a 'prick' as i saw on own thread earlier. Yeah there’s no excuse for it, BUT everyone has a chance to change right.
Then you get the other members who come on this site wanting advise on how to do an engine con, or what exhaust, or sound system. I’ve noticed these members automatically get thrown in the pile of 'chav speed racers' and get total abuse thrown at them.
Just remember that just because they want to do something rather than stay standard - like a lot of you on saxp like, others might have a different taste. And they have come for advise, not abuse.
I don’t think that its giving saxp a good rep, and i think it should change.
For example, when I joined you lot were nasty!! And still are at times (no offence meant), but it doesn’t bother me cause its a forum, but after being asked to go to various meets it does put me off. As would it any other person.
Fair play, some nice people on here, but I am thinking a little less abuse, and more advise is needed.
Sorry for lecture.

Im hungry and ive got 40p...
Anyway, anyone who chats about speeding on a forum needs to back it up with evidence and their reg plate. Then we'll see how good it is...
I remember when one of my mates wouldn't come out, when i was staying in dewsbury, and the reason was;
His dad had killed his own son (mates brother) in a head on colision, he was driving an Astra mk4 and dad was driving a land rover. His son was overtaking on a blind corner, in the impact he killed his girlfriend and 3 of his/her mates in the back instantly....dad, who was alone in the car was unharmed...
Now imagine how you would feel if you did the opposite, and killed youre father or relatives and had to live with the blame....
Ive taken risks and ive got off very very lucky....before i had even passed so take it steady and live to drive faster cars in better, legal, situations instead of risking you're life and others everytime you go out with youre mates. And dont be afraid to smash youre mates head against his steering wheel when he shows you how his 2.0 Corsa Turbo with 1.2 running gear will go off the clocks.....its just not worth it.

Thats the Joys of driving a 1.1i. You cant race because by the time you get any speed up, the other cars either disappeared or you need to slow down. I had to laugh when a 50yr old man tried to race me in his 2.2L BMW z4 at 11pm with his hood down being all to cool.

Also there has been a mass increase in spamming crap thats of no use to anyone. How should we deal with that?

Ok fair enough, I do agree that there are a large number of sheep on here that follow the standard is cool thing. That will change, it used to be big wheels etc... the scene changes and it will again. That will sort itself out eventually.
However your severly misguided if you think someone doing an engine conversion is labeled a chav or whatever. Maybe sometime out of general chat where an engine conversion has been brought about by a mentalist doing 115123213mph round a corner. The engines section is bursting with information on engine conversions and holds a different breed of member who wont come into general chat because its got the rubbish described above in it.
Also being a frequent ice section fan i havent seen many people labeled a chav, most i see is people trying to advise from previous experience about whats rubbish.
On the last part, yes it has been pointed to us that some folk were picking on you. This was dealt with and those previously pointed out have stopped from what i have seen.
The mass spamming you do doesnt help your own cause though....

Alright scott, i wasnt blaming anyone. I no that the picking on me is harmless fun, it doesnt bother me tbh. May have at one point, but i had a choice to leave didnt i.
I agree, maybe I havent explored the various sections. And in future I will do, Just saying what I have heard from other members who I have spoken to, and myself. I think that these points I made above should be taken into account. Nothing should be changed though, its a generel chat forum therefore, why cant i ask questions at my free will?
oh and
Point taken! :)

I haven't been on her for long as you call can tell but i think it would be a good for the site to allow so general off topic talk, where all here to help each other out with Saxo etc.. why not in real life situations. Plus it kinda give the site a whole extra side of the ' community ' feel to the place.
Only my opinion. ( Sorry for posting this when this happened a while back & me spelling ain't the best to )
Cheers, Chris

I think (and I'm sure most will agree) that sax-p is a very friendly (and sometimes off-topic) site.
It has several excellent sections which are designed to make the site easy to navigate to newbies and regular users.

6 pages... not too shabby peeps.
Many 'wannabe racers' are just kids in their first medium-quick car, who let it get to their head. Real street-racers are different. I'm not talking poxy traffic-light duels, thats just quickest in a straight 0-60ish or 70ish, its usually over quickly. Not good, but not proper organised racing. I've been to a few events with real street racing, most 'real' boy-racers are over 23 and drive cars with upwards of 220bhp and worth worryingly high amounts of money.
Although to see this is sort of thing is quite a spectacle, I would never ever even dream of taking part. Cops, risk of crashing, killing, dying, its just a bit much. Besides, I always doubt my little French Saxo's ability to take a true punishment like what i've seen. If I wanted to race hard I would most certainly not buy the car I brought, but thats just me. But I don't race, and I love my standard, unraced VTS to bits!! :)
