You certainly won't need that much bass in a Saxo. My Infinity Sub/ Amp is loud enough as it is and the amp is only on about 30% Gain!!!!

Amp -> Infinity Reference 611a
Sub -> Infinity Perfect 12VQ

No offense mate but that's nothing to be proud of, the gain isn't a volume control it's a volt setter. I would put money on you actually causing damage to your sub because you've got your gain set at that. The gain level is there to match your head unit voltage to your amp. If you've got a 5v head unit then you set the gain to roughly 5v etc. Saying it's only at 30% means there's a high chance you're damaging the sub as 30% is usually the equivalent of around 2v on most amps, some have bigger or smaller ranges on their gain settings, perhaps you've got a 2v head unit, if so you've got lucky.

This is something that people need to learn about, because it is the main cause for damage to ICE products in regards to people with limited knowledge. The best manual way to set the gain is to turn your music upto roughly 75% of total volume on the head unit then gradually increase the gain until you hear any sort of distortion or descrease in sound quality. Then turn the gain back slightly and you should be fairly safe from damage.

Note: Distortion isn't always noticable, especially in low frequencies. But it is loud, you may think that as you turn the gain it gets louder, and it appears to be at it's loudest when full gain, but the music itself stops increasing in volume when it matches it's head unit voltage, it's the distortion that increases the volume, and it's distortion (clipped signal) that damages speakers.

Sorry for the post hijack with this information but I see quite a few people on this forum and others that are doing unnecessary damage to their speakers because they don't know this about the gain setting.

As for the OP's post, it looks to be a good price but I would definatly consider creating a new box as that off the shelf box most likely won't be the right size and without a decent enclosure there is no point in spending that sort of money. Yet to hear the subs so can't comment, but nice amp overall.

That deal looks good value for money. You may find that you need to upgrade things like the battery, possible the alternator and definatly the main three wires under the bonnet as that amount of power is going to put some serious strain on the car's standard electrical system.

If you're willing to put the time and effort into the installation and don't just go half hearted then i'm sure you will be very happy with the end result.
