have you informed your insurace company saying that its only a two seater?

and does it void your insurance if its insured for 4/5 seats and you only have 2?

at a guess i would say they wont botehr to much you could have had the seats out to transport something. Although as always it maybe best to give them a quick ring and check

IIRC it depends on you're insurance company (as stupid as it sounds) a friend of mine had removed his rear bench and it would have dropped his insurance with one company and not with another (Can't remember what providers it was).

I presume that they presume that it could be less people that could be injured in the event of and accident.

(It could also swing the other way though - they might have the opinion that you are modifying the car for race purposes and therefore, may up you're premium a bit.

Best thing to do is to give your insurance company a call to check (say that you're thinking of doing it and you're asking what it would do to the insurance premium if was to do so)
