If my ABS warning light won't go off is this an MOT failure?
I've got an awful feeling it is.

The ABS light, if illuminated, then that will constitute a fail. To pass the MOT the ABS (if fitted) has to be working correctly and as you have pointed out, if one of your sensors is faulty, then a fail slip should be heading your way. To cover up the light, or to remove the bulb may in itself not be a guarantee of a pass. According to this page (http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_340.htm) the warning must be present and working.
Hope this helps, good luck.

yeah will fail mate.
best thing is to get a diagnostic done and they will be able to tell you which sensor it is thats knackered.
other than that, you could take them off one at a time and give them a clean, sometimes works.
