Hey peeps,

Do most of you guys think that doing to many modifications to a Saxo brings it resell price down like a ton of bricks or does it depend on the target market and advertising?

Or do mods just kill your chance of resell altogether?

In my opinion:

I mean yeah sure if you left it standard or did small mods you'd have a much bigger target market to sell the car one to, there are also a lot of young men and women who are hot for this sort of car. And most of them know they can save money (quite abit of money) by doing up (if they want to do anything) a remodded Saxo.

TBF if its overthetop, eg bodykit etc, you would be a fool to buy it. Especially something like a saxo, as chances are, its been ragged.
So yeh technically i think that mods like that do bring down the resell value

aslong as you keep it subtle i think you have got a great chance of selling.

tbh it depends...
if you are selling it to some one that wants a modded car... then it can be good... but if ur not selling it to a person that wants a modded car it will be harder

Look on the Bay, how many modded cars do you see with "thousands spent, receipts for £8000, sell for £2000". The minute you modify your car, you are cutting down on the target market. You modify a car to make it individual - and then you wonder why you can't sell it to the mass market.

Motor manufacturers spends millions on market research for each model range - and on the whole that money is well spent and can tell what will sell, and more importantly, what won't. If a car with after market modifications was going to set the market alight, you can bet your life that the car would come like that out of the box.

Still doesn't stop us doing it though.

I think the main things are like said body kits and things that are a pain in the arse to take off if it's not to their taste. My boyfriend James had a devil horn spoiler before he went standard again and had to have a new boot fitted as the spoiler was stuck lol

i fink it makes u lose the value of your car because it then goes 2 1 market type i reckon if u are 2 mod your car only get stuf that can b changed back easy
