Thinking about my next car, these are nice cars, popular amung drivers moving from saxo/106's and i can see why.

What does anyone think and what have they experienced from them??

im not too keen on the looks tho, they look good but i prefer the 106 gti/vts looks for example. but id pick this car for the power

Carnt beat the saxo/106 on looks, but practicality and all the boring factors you need are what brings down the saxo. There just so fragile!

Just wondered if these would be good for reliability and pace.

Quite quick,
reliable,
well built.

Would you buy the Cupra R?
or just the Cupra?

Cupra R is rare, there wasnt many made tbh

180bhp, brembos and a different leather interior.

Craig off here has a red one, have a look at his progress thread

Probably just the cupra, as i just turned 19 and have only been driving 18months, got 1 years NCB. 156 brake, would do me quite nicely.

Yet to hear bad feedback about them to be fair.

i work as a mechanic at seat and can definately recommend the cupra and cupra r.only thing i find about ibizas are too much road noise when your driving them.but other than that comfy, quick and most certainly reliable.think personally though i'd have a leon cupra rather than the ibiza.

Ibiza Cupra's are lovely, 1.8 Turbo motor from the VAG group is a gem. Lots of torque, smooth turbo-boost with no old-school kick up the arse, still shed-loads of fun!
EDIT- that Leon Cupra R is absolutly 150% lush, but doubt any 19 year old is going to get that ;)

Yeah the leons are nice, just another 6-7k more!! Looking to get a car now that will last me through at least a year through university. They really appeal, and have lots of nice touches.
