Can anybody recommend a good place that sells reasonably cheap saxo VTS gearboxes? Would prefer fully re-conditioned but would consider used.

Had a few quotes, £293 for a second hand one from donny motor spares on bout 36k miles. Fully re-conditioned been quoted bout £400.

Anybody found them cheaper?

i just had a recon with warrenty, was over 400 iirc

seems about the normal price mate, second hand unit has only done 36k but could have been ragged every where,

google it and phone as many re-con gearbox companys as you can and get the best price,

fully re-con units are the best of the two, but also alot more expensive.

Dread to think how much they charge! My mum got quoted £1000 on a gearbox from skoda for her 1.6 octavia........before labour.

She finally got a recond box, clutch and all labour for about £800 from local garage.

Can only imagine that citroen should also wear masks and stripy jumpers too!

I got my gti box for £180 with 3 months gaurantee + including delivery, just shop around mate it pays off in the end!
