Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but didnt want to post is in problems as its not about a saxo (hope you dont mind). I am asking this question on behalf of my dad -

My dad has a 2003 Ford focus with 29k on the clock.
The otherday the handbrake light and ABS light came on and wouldnt go off, so we took it to an independant ford dealer who said the computer that controled the brakes had broke and we required a new one costing £800. After unplugging it and putting it back in we got the lights to go out. The lights are now flashing on and off now and again so im guessing the computer is kind of working. Does anyone know anything we can try to sort it out before we fork out £800 for a new computer. Anyone could give us any information would be great as there is alot of money on it.

Thank you.

Very sorry if this is not allowed but we running out of ideas.

Take it to a ford professinal garage first see what they say.. thats what I would do, or to another garage and see what they say

If not, try a ford focus forum, not being rude but they will probably be able to tell you a bit more matey!

The garage we took it to was a ford specialist (who used to work for ford).
I have also posted it on a ford forum for about a week now with no luck and the only was to sort it is looking like £800 which im abit spectical about because computer seems to be working on and off

take it for at least 2 other opinions. Regardless of them being ex Ford everyone has to make a living so they could be making things more expensive than they need to be
