Spedo???

Iv got a mk2 saxo W reg and my spedo goes to 120!!

Previously i owned an 02 saxo and the spedo went to 140!!!


if i was to change it to the whole unit would one that goes to 140 work as there is a extra 20 mph difference!!!


and would a VTS 1 just clip in and work fine!! (apart from the other temp guage that requires a new wire fitting!)

Both read in the same way!
Its not like you are going to get 140 out of a Vtr!

You could just change the dial face, rather than the whole panel!

not worth the swap... you cant just change the facia. otherwise your speed reading will be well out.

doesnt really offer any benefit in having a '140mph' reading on a car that cant even do 120mph

I know it wont do 140 but i just want it to be like my old 1 as much as possible!!lol

It won't do 120 either...
Maybe because the other one was 98bhp, and the current is a 90bhp model...?

iv had it off the clock before (and not on a public road) is this not normal then from a w reg vtr with 104,000 miles?????

Saxo speedo's are out though by a fair percentage... Think it's about 10% iirc.... Although at them speeds it could be more?

but is it 10% more ie dials say you where doing 100 but youd actually be doning 110 or 10% less so 100mph would be 90?

fare enough!!! any 1 know how much it is to dyno test it??? and where 1 is local to me!! im in northampton!! and is there a group 1 arranged!! i really want to see what im kicking out!! i know that its not going to be impressive but i just wanna know!!! full de-cat stainless magnex system and induction kit!!!!

Not all too sure you know... I think the speedo shows you're doing more... So if it said 100mph, then you'd actually be at just over 90... I'm sure someone else could clear this up for you though...

it all depends on aftermarket wheels and all that but roughly it can be as much as 10% out

if mine was on 50mph i'd actually be doing 45mph.
