If looked after there's no reason why they cant go to 200k.

can find ragged to death 30,000 mile cars and cars that are 120k and run better than the day they came outta factory.

Around 90k most cars start falling to bits..... in my experience anyway.

Milage doesnt really bother me, as long as I have proof and can see the car has been looked after then I would have no worries buying a car with 100k miles.

check whats been fixed, if its on 90k and its never had driveshafts clutch gearbox probs then they are the things that generally go,
but cars are cars anything could go wrong
i would rather buy a saxo on 90k with recent clutch driveshafts and gearbox problems which have all been fully fied, than i would one on 70k with no problems in years..
but its just luck. you could buy a saxo for 1k and have no problems you could push the boat and spend 2 k on one and have ENDLESS problems!

Ever seen a brand new car a few days after release broken down at the side of the motorway... I have so obviously mileage isn't that big a deal providing the cars been well looked after

i put it down to luck, iv known people who treat there cars like crap, theres stories on the net of people who never change oil and never had a problem with it, people who hammer there cars about and dont get suspension problems yet someone elses might just go one day who drives it well and looks after it every week.
obviously if i had a choice between 2 identical cars one owned by a older women whos looked after it well and the other a little chav who i have seen hammer it about every other day i would obviously pick the womens but if that broke and me mate bought the chavs with no problems id just put it down to bad luck plain and simple

bought my vtr with 93k on 2months ago its now got 96k on it an it still runs fine i wouldnt say perfect but its all good, and thats with occasionally driving it hard, obviously dont do it everyday but as long as its looked after cant see why it couldnt last well past 100k. another thing to check for as well is probably the timing belt.

Cant say when a car starts to die, all are different, if you get a VTR with good service history etc, will do over 200k..
Mine is on 117k and i do trackdays etc, but because its looked after its fine..:d
