best driver there is bar none....

he cocks up behind the saftey car due to lack of experiance and people give him a death...most of them will never be in that posistion cuz they are to shit to lead grand prix's never mind lead them in bad conditions...few jealous F1 losers trying to get one over on him

i think thats wrong tbh, i understand the drivers are different nowa days, but to say "walk over" thats a bit of a bold statement to make.

yup, schumacher would be good, also mika hakkinen and Damon Hill would be good to see back racing.

Im glad he never got punished, he didnt deserve it, he dictates the pace as he was the leader, and it turns out they can blame the safety car. Apparently it got to close to Hamilton which made him go wide. its what my colleague said to me, he heard it on bbc

Stupid people are easy to win over with media hype

Hamilton better than Schumacher? No. Better than Senna? Fuck off

lol....give it time....

It genuinely scares me how many F1 "experts" we have now that Hamilton is donig well. I bet half of themn haven't even heard of Jimmy Clark or Fangio, never mind Villeneuve (Giles, not Jaques)

I'm old enough to remember Senna first time out and the way he ripped the likes of Prost apart in the wet. Hamilton is good, but don't kid yourself, he's far from one of the greats yet

Saxo-Will
5th October 2007, 15:46
yea i dont think anyone is saying that, just sayin he has the potential to become a great f1 driver :y: if he maybe tones it down a bit, but you cant fault the guy.

it is his 1st championship remember :)

very well said im to young to remember any of the folk youve said, and im shure as hell no f1 expert.

given time he could well be a great, if not great than some of the previous racers but to say this before his first season is over is stupid really.

when button first started he was good, but then went shite lol.

so whats not to say hamilton will do this.

thats the main point, its to early to say yet.

yes but thats just life.

there are hundreds of footballers that are constantly labelled as the next pele etc. nothing can be justified untill they retire and they hang up there boots/f1 racing equivilent to boot hanging.

Ahhhh campdavid, we meet again when there is a discussion of Lewis Hamilton and people saying he is great :y

Anyway, as said in a previous post about Lewis, I think he has the potential to become one of the greatest, if not THE greatest F1 driver to ever grace the wonderful sport. I do agree with you when you say the media blows it all out of proportion, (Andy Murray just an example), but you cannot take away the fact he has had good fortunes to be in a very good car to start with, and has been brought up through McLaren. Yes Senna, Schumacher etc have not had what Lewis has had. But Lewis has graced his good fortunes and to me has passed with flying colours.

Yes, Lewis has got a long way to go before he can be called amongst the greats that have been named. But dont take away he has more potential than most of the drivers out there.

:y: i like these discussions, better than most of the posts recently imo

Oh fucking wank. I hate that prick.

CampDavid
5th October 2007, 16:12
Here's a good comparison.

In his first season Hamilton was as quick as Alonso (2 times champ)

Very good

In Schumachers first season he ended Piquet's (3 times world champ) career by handing him his arse on a plate.

Better

I love you too Leckster
