Just a quick query for a friend.

When fitting the a raceland manifold you gota screw the m10 tap into the hole for the oil return...

Just slightly worried that when i screw this in its going to push iron fillings into my engine ?

Should i be worried about this or not?

Ive looked mate. found the guide for the fitment...

but it doesnt seem to answer what im asking.

Are a few fillings dropping into the sump going to cause any damage?

According to the guy i spoke to this morning....if you use the Tap properly it will bring the fillings out. How you do this im not sure so ima let him do it for me lol

i wouldnt worry mate ive done this, the tap brings the metal back out, when you unscrew.

also might be handy having a couple of m10 taps and maybe an m9 cos one of my m10 taps was to big so had to use a 9.

the way you use a tap is to put it in about two turns then bring it out, keep doing that and it will bring out the pieces of metal, also use cutting compound to stop the threads from breaking, it gets very hot when tapping a hole :y:

also wouldnt worry about a few getting in because on the sump plug is a magnet that collects the shards of metal :y:
