Speed Kills.

Kill your speed, not a child.

THINK! Slow Down!

Yawn, boring... doesn't work, won't happen to me.

What about this? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hWxU_ICoHM)

i dont think it will its like those things that flash your speed i mean if someone is speeding thats not gonna slow you down is it

those speed cameras that mark one point to the other are best because you have no choice but to slow down

I think they would work if instead of a discrete '30MPH' warning sign it had a F*******KING HUGE (house sized)

'THIS PERSON IS A SPEEDING, IGNORANT C*NT'

and it flashed in neon lights so that others driving could see it, they'd slow down.

Actually, it has.

Dr Job said research suggests young drivers in 2007 are increasingly de-sensitised to the more traditional ‘shock-horror’ speeding images.

“We accept the Speeding – no one thinks big of you campaign is controversial, but we must find new ways to make our anti-speeding message sink in.”

The RTA has a history of producing cutting edge advertisements that have helped increase road safety awareness. This has made a contribution to reducing the road toll.

“This campaign continues the RTA’s efforts to do all we can to save lives on our roads. If the road toll is to be reduced further we must make speeding socially unacceptable,” said Dr Job.

Recent independent research has revealed the commercial may have had the desired effect.

Dr Job said, “The survey of people across New South Wales has revealed seven out of ten are aware of the commercial, and six out of ten young males were familiar with its message, that speeding is unacceptable.

“What’s more, six out of ten young males said the campaign would prompt them to change their driving behaviour.

“The campaign has also served to empower the community, with almost five out of ten people saying they are more likely to comment on someone’s driving behaviour as a result of seeing the commercial.

“We are very pleased by the results of this research,” said Dr Job, “it’s a step in the right direction for reducing speeding-related crashes on our roads.

“It was particularly pleasing to hear feedback from young men that say the campaign has influenced their driving behaviour, making this a real success story,” said Dr Job.

to be fair speeding doesnt really bover me,

i go by the rules of...

30's are 30's
40's are 40's
50's are 50's

60's out in the country side i go as fast as i feel safe,

and motorways are the same usually cruise at 80-90..

but big no no to speeding in built up areas..

and that video was pure shite lol

Very true. It's also a fact that young men tend to use speed and their driving ability to impress their passengers. Remove that link and some will slow down.

It has taken 40 years since the introduction of the breathalyser (happy birthday for a week ago!), for drink driving to be socially unacceptable, I wonder how long it will be for inappropriate speed to reach the same stage?

By that time something will be out to restrict your speed, like a chip in the ECU or what ever.

agreed buddy, why dont people just drive safe, so much f**king easier when you know, if everyone is driving safe, that the roads will be ok, and 70% less dangerous

tbh thats exactly what i do when a bloke screams past me!!
A lot of blokes in my area think they can impress the girlies by wheelspinning away and driving like tubes but the anyway mature girlies just laugh at them. They seem to think a done up car is an extension of their manhood!!

no video or picture of dead people will work. the only thing to stop someone speeding is themselfs choosing not to speed. the problem will never be solved.

funny video tho

Tbh i think one of these on the side of the road would work better :y: or a topless version would be more effective. Would probably solve speeding, might increase risk of accidents though, thats the only problem
