Just wondering what the guidelines are for safety at work.
Something quite funny just happened which is probably a 'have to be there' moment.
Basically a big bloke walked straight into the office demanding 'who's white van was outside' we didn’t know so he stormed out. We thought maybe he went to ask the accountants upstairs
Literally two mins later we hear the loudest banging! Sounding like it came from up stairs.
It went on and on and on, eventually we all told ourselves there must be work going on.
But it gets stupidly loud and aggressive and think surely the man who’s banging on the door must realise there’s no1 up there? Or the workers should have let us no at least.
So we send the new lad out, lol.. the banging was coming from the ladies loos; he said 'hello' but no answer. At this point he was worrying what was really in there.
He pushed open the door, twatted a poor lady stuck in the loo straight in the head. Ha-ha..
Anyway, its all my fault cos the lil bit of paper keeping the latch on the door in fell out earlier and I couldn’t be arsed to put it back (not having a clue what its for)
Also our window it’s propped up by a lunch box and opening it you’re at risk of slicing your arm off.
There’s one fire exit, to get out u have to go through a very heavy door.
The buildings listed so the ceiling has dipped and the lights are wonky.(long lights look like there insecure)
The interview rooms door doesn’t open- only if your have the knack.
Etc.
Is it right that were working here still?
And do any of you have any Health and safety complaints.
Sorry for the Essay
I’m not moaning just wondering lol..

Get a job in poland then complain about the uk health and safety
Them guys dont have safety laws to speak of and whenever they work here they work to polish law what basically means f**k safety get the job done they funny as hell to watch and you just know to keep your distance.
I was working down london and the french and germans are just the same they were having cans of stella and bottles of plonk with there dinner (2 hour dinner) and then going out on the job and cracking a weld up right near your head, had all the power cables running through puddles and generally didnt give a toss

whats the minimum temperature you are legally allowed to work in?
The temperature in a workroom is to be at least 16oC (60.8oF) unless much of the work involves severe physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13oC (55.4oF).
This advice does not apply where it would be impractical to maintain such temperatures, e.g where food is being kept cold. There is no advice on an appropriate maximum temperature.

I assume you mean me... It's "Johnny", Chloe - i see that in my absence, that your spelling has not improved...

rumour has it he is serving life in prison for objecting against a speeding fine and losing.
Miss you too, Robb.
I was doing 7-10 in the Pen, before the jailbreak. That'll teach me to diss the traffic wardens...
Yeh.. hm wonder what happened to him. I miss him bringing up My life and twisting it so that I looked like scum. And all those lovely pms he used to send me, slagging me off. Ahh those were the days.
Your memory is even worse than your spelling... I have only ever responded to PM's sent by you. Suffice to say that each, and every one of mine, did little to twist rather than spell out the obvious...
As an addendum, and to not appear of topic - i believe Vidal is correct - 16C is the magic figure. However, if i remember rightly, i believe that is within 1 hour of starting work...
Furthermore Clo, Vidal is far too left wing to be one and the same as myself (apologies if i've tarred you with the "left-wing brush" Vidal, but i remember our distant banter over Bevan and Thatcher...)!
vidal

Remember the Thatcher v Bevan thread, really good to have a cogent discussion (even though you were wrong! :P ) Would be proud to be tarred with the "left wing brush", just hope it doesn't leave a mess on Keir Hardie's old cap and Michael Foot's donkey jacket.
Welcome back.
(Actually, being rather a noob round here, I hadn't actually noticed you'd gone!)
