Hi,
Going to see a Furio tomorrow. :P
Im wondering how much I should be looking at paying..

The car is on a 02 Reg with 79k on the clock, VTR alloys. and its advertised at £2299.

I think this car comes with no tax and not too sure about MOT.

How much SHould I be paying?

doesnt seem like 2 bad a price, id go straight in and say 2 grand tho, just try and haggle as low as poss to be honeys, then if thats a nono, say "i have 2100 in my pocket CASH" cash payments speak volumes ;) and just look for little downpoints on it that are easy fix's but can be used to haggle

I certainly wouldnt be paying £2300 for that then!

No tax, mildly high mileage, poss no MOT, and its on;y a 1.4. I'd say to look at around £1800 max!

actaully, didnt see the mot thing, i wouldnt buy a non mot car if it has non, could be all sorts wrong with it, missed that bit

nah i paid £1150 for my R plate VTR with 80k miles... with a years MOT and 6 months tax.... i certainly wouldnt pay £2300 for a Furio... 80k miles in 5 years has definately seen alot of road for it's age and thats something to consider when you do take it for it's mot! Around £1500 - £1800 is a good price for that saxo

£2,300 i would say.

So, if no MOT dont touch it?? Sounds about right.

If all is in decent order, and bodywork is decent, that maybe I should offer him around 1850 IF i was to buy it.

It will be around £120 for the tax so that will come off the asking price straight away and then anything else that needs looking at will also come off.

But yeh, I agree 80K is a fair bit for a 5 year old car. Almost 16000 a year.

Look around on Auto trader or somewhere as you might see a better example. I wouldn't pay £2300 for a furio with that many miles on the clock lol:P

Certainly don't pay that mate. I got an 02 plated furio, imaculate throughout with 54,000 on the clock for £2000

Thanks guys. Unfortunately there isnt any furios in the north east (or 106 quikkys, typical I know.)

I have thought of a VTR, but the thing that worries me is the insurance. Seen a lovely red VTR on autotrader for 2k with 74k on the clock on a W reg with full service history and MOTS. Nice car.

How much would I be looking at for a VTR on insurance?? I ran it through the online quote and came back at around £1600, but how much will it be once I pass my test??

Cheers.

How old are you? I would image if you are 17 for £1600 to be a pretty reasonable price

i bought a 51 plate VTR, mint condition , every reciept, service history etc.. only ever had citroen parts fitted... 48k miles for £2200

so i'd say you can get it cheaper!!

depends hugley on what area you live in.

If you live around here (South West), thats a very fair price. Other areas of the country you seem to be able to get the same cars for about 500-800 quid less than down here

im 18, with a years protected no claims, but 1 crash and claim, and i get insured for 1200 full comp with mods declared on a vtr, but i live in a small town with hardly any crime, so insurance aint too much :) but at 17, just passin test, might be abit of a quote, 1600 seems fair to be honest ;)

at least ask them to get it MOTd if you really like the car.

WEll, went to see it today and I wasnt impressed at all. Firstly it had gained a rather crappy looking spolier and also lexus lights from the picture. A fair few scratches and parts of wiring laid all around the bonnet.

The search continues......

Im defo running out of options now. Its annoying.
