after running my car amp for a few hours, it seemed red hot and i could hardly keep my hand on it, is this normal, or will it cause damage to them amp?
it hasnt been cutting out, but it is an old amp, so not sure if it will have this built in or not.

it is screwed down on plywood and also coverd by another sheet of MDF, there is a small gap above the amp.

cheers

As above, its getting very hot as its enclosed and has no form of cooling in there. Put some fans in there and that would help the issue...

predator is right, make sure there is some ventilation for the fans, otherwise they are just blowing more hot air around the amps

there is a big gap, at the back of the sub, so will have a couple of fans at the front blowing and some at the back sucking out via the gap!

cheers every 1!
