ugrading my standard knob

my old knob is starting to get all flakey and starting to peel in places and im starting to get embarrassed of using it when my girlfriend is with me and i need to upgrade it, so i've just bought a new one which has an extended sleve for a better feel. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get my old one off as i dont fancy taking a hacksaw to it:P

From the description, I'd dip it in antiseptic and take a course of antibiotics. I'd suggest your girlfriend did the same. ;)

to get the old GEAR knob off, you just need to pull it real hard, sit in the back seat with it in 4th gear and tug tug tug, should pop off eventually :)

to get it off unclick the gear gaitor and pull the gear knob off try twisting it should come off.

i tried this, ended up with a black eye and almost broke my jaw. lmao, carefull, it just suddenly comes, just keep on pulling.
