Robb

Robb's been told he might have to move desks shortly, really cant be dealed with the hassles and my screen will be looked upon by anyone and everyone. The desk i have a the moment is cushty, no shit from other people, near the door/heater. Wouldnt mind not going on saxp etc till lunchtime, but it winds me up even when people can see what im on at lunch.

So what can I say to keep my desk.....

any leech/brother comments will be neg repped.

Robb

lol the reasoning behind me moving is because I need to be 'closer' to the person i work with, however this desk is about 2 metres away from the proposed shitty desk. Ive said i dont mind walking the extra 2 steps to speak to them but........

Jacko
26th October 2007, 11:41

Viper
26th October 2007, 11:41

Say that you like it where you are because you really 'feel' the cold. (go to manager and say you dont want to sit next to the other person cos they have a bad hygiene problem)

I am sat in the entrance way, so whenever anybody comes in im fooked.

put up with it for today. see the boss and say its causing strain on your eyes which will in turn cause you to need glasses for vdu use and unless he's willing to foot the bill for specsavers then you're staying at your current desk :p

I only know because when I asked for an eye test through work last year they did an assessment on my workstation and because it was in the sun they had to pay for my eye test. Ended up with glasses for general use which means almost all the time and I can't even have contact lenses cos their a pain in the arse lol

Boring HSE document (http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/16-3.htm) on VDU usage, eye tests and employer's responsibilities.

Wrong end.
