simple mate, they have to offer you a full refund of the money you have paid and term your current policy, they have missold you a policy so they haev 2 options

A. refund you and apologise.
B. honour the policy AT the price you paid for it.

they cannot legally make you pay more as they missold it its simple. they either carry on at the price they giev you by mistake they are legally bined to it, or refund you all the money you paid and say sorry our mistake

advise them something along these lines

i have got a letter bla bla bla, and this is currently in breach of the FSA (financial services authorities) regulations you have missld me an insurance product so i require (which ever you want) that you term my missold policy with a refund on the premiums i have paid.

need any advise pm me bk

well if you was with another company before , which i take it you was , was your old insurance policy one of those 10 month bonus things cause some companys wont accept them as valid ncb

either way you dont need to pay extra coin mate, youv already entered your policy paid and obided by the terms and conditions, they have made a mistake there end as ncb if they dont take 10month ones then they need to find that out before letting you purchase the police

However if he said he had a years no claims bonus when he legally didn't then he is the one who has breached the contract and it wont stant up in a court of law.

hes told us he has one though,

if he has been to any insurance company who offer him a year no claims discount over 10 months then regardless if they accept it for moneym he had a year no claims, as said that isnt the question of whos wrong at that point

the point is they insured him with them accepting him saying he hada year no claims that would be there fault for not fully investigating it if went down that dodgy route. i work quite high within the insurance industry for claims and legal wordings ts n cs and i know for a fact he will end up getting a full refund or them good willing him and allowing the year at the price he purchased, either way he was missold a product they didnt at any point specifically state what they accept as a year no claims (provided it didnt and he missed it)

insurance companies suck!

They said summit about cos my polocy was altered slightly. It didn't count as 12months it only counted as like 9months or summit. Iv managed to get them down to £1700 now so its not too bad. Thanks for all the advise Hanuman. I think ill just pay the difference now, cos i really dont want to be getting into a legal battle with them over it.

Thanks alot everyone.

what do you mean the policy was altered slightly, if you put in the wrong data fair does but if you put everything in as you knew it and its them who have a problem with ur prev 10months no claims they you wouldnt have a battle you simply wouldnth ave to pay a penny more than you did, but if your happy with that then fair play
