View Full Version : Different Types a PAS Pipe...?

Right... 2 months ago my PAS pipe was replaced due to it catching on the track rod when turning left and going over a bump.

Today... It needs replacing again. Where the pipe goes into the steering rack seems to be where its leaking from.

Can I sort this myself? I've ordered another pipe, but is there another model which has a pipe that isn't a metal pipe, and possibly made of a flexible pipe which i could tie out of the way?

I tried bending the pipe with a lever previously, but it wouldn't move (thought I'd cause more damage than good)

Any help guys????

Car: 2002 VTS... Lowered 40mm, shocks and springs.

mk1 had a different pipe however citroen no longer sell them, mk2 pipe only.

It will bend up out of the way just put your back into it:P

LOL...

Wont I just be having the same effect as the pipe bashing against the track rod, and therefore end up fitting a new pipe, trying to bend it and then break it??

Is there much pressure going thru the pipe. I was thinking of cutting the pipe and taking a section out of the middle and replacing it with a flexible pipe... Would it work?

it might not sure how much pressure is within the pipes.

Most mk2 owners bend the pipe up out of the way, its the track arm rubbing on the pipe that bursts it

OK, will see what the garage says....

Guess the parts on £12 anyway.

BTW Its not getting worn thru, its getting bent/snapped where it joins the steering rack.

Can't even get a spanner to the pipe, otherwise i'd have a go myself. There's another pipe in the way.
