I've had my Headunit since June and it has never failed me to today. For once I didnt try to start it till I had began my journey. I set off, and at a set of lights wonderred why I hadn't put on the headunit. And it didn't work :n: it's a Kenwood KDC-W3037 does anyone know how to fix the problem, I've checked the power connections directly behind the headunit, and its not security as the light goes off when the facia's plugged in. Someone Please help I do long journey's too often to not have music.

I'll rep whoever helps when it's fixed. Quite annoyed.

Could be the fuse that has blown? bad connection between the fascia and the main unit?

Which fuse would it be that would have gone, is the fuse in the rear of the headunit? And as far as I know the facia seems to connect fine, all clicks in just like usual, just gave it a toothbrush clean :( A fuse in the underside of glovebox need replacing? (I'm rubbish with electronics)

Check both - could be either that may have gone (if they have) - although you say the security light flashes, so this may rule out the possibility of the fuse going

See if you can borrow a head unit from some one as it might be a internal wire in the head unit.
or it might be a wire from the back of the head unit that could be loose .

Check ALL wires are correctly connected, check the fuses under the dash and the one on the rear of the headunit:y:

Still no luck, been at Uni all day today so tomorrow (my day off work+uni) I'm going to check the fuses, but as said if the security light flashes then surely the fuses are ok? All wires connected up fine, and power being delivered however no power through to facia. If it's a problem with the facia should I just use my warranty and wait it out with the cassette player till it's fixed? :n:

yeah, check all the fuses. if they are ok then try a different head unit to see if it works
also if theres a re-set button on the headunit try pressing it

All fuses are fine, behind headunit+under dash+in engine. I read my warranty card I need not only the serial number but the damn receit as proof of purchase (it was a Birthday present) I honestly don't know if the person who bought it for me still has it! :n: Only one other person I know who has a kenwood headunit and she's on holiday in france for another 8 months.

Try any headunit, it doesnt have to be a kenwood,
that way you will be able to see if its the car side of things, or ur headunit thats not working.

get a multimeter and see it theres power getting through the wires to the headunit mate, check the yellow one with keys out to see if you get around 12 volts, with the red one switch it to ignition and see if you get a reading of 12 volts too, if so then i would out it down to being the actual headunit or even the face plate, sometimes the contacts just need cleaning up (copper bits)
