it's going to be cold in switzerland that's where most of the snow is for skiing at least it will be peaceful for him.

funny that all the other F1 drivers move there for the tax breaks.

Oh but no.. Lewis must be there for peace and tranquility:homme:

He's a spoilt git i say. If you can't deal with the fame or the attention then you shouldnt have gone for it in the first place. Fair enough it might get a bit of a pain getting bothered all over....but these are the people who watch the f1 and support him. Good riddance!

chrisni1986

hes highly over rated and has been from the start.... cant say im fond of the guy...

Disagree, thourhgt it was dying a few seasons back, but its much better, on the other hand at least Hamilton is leaing F1.

completely dissagree there,
hows he spoilt. hes paid like every other person, he can get what he wants like every other person hows that spoilt?

he went in it to be a proffesional racer, some people go in it for the sport mate not for the fame, nothing wrong with not wanting the limelight theres lots of famous people who shy away from the limelight, nothing wrong with not wanting a camera in ur face every time u leave your house, chase you in your car everywhere, have u actually seen what the papperazzi do these days? they dont just take one photo a day you know.

and moving away, apart from family what the hell is in the uk that you would want to stay for? high taxes? busy? immigrants taking over everywhere?weather?

fair play to him i say, cant see how people say they dontl ike him? unless i miss something, he races...... he hardly ever speaks out when he did it was justified against alonso, (which he didnt say anything to bad liek mostpeople could have)

fair play to the lad hes good hes brittish hes good for the sport at least we dont have a brittish alonso!

Its because most English people think....we are England, we have to be different, we are the best at everything (i know people that think that)

As soon as a very good talent comes into a sport and are from the UK, everyone is there to critisize him/her, and if they make the slightest mistake, BOOM the comments start rallying.

Leave him to his own business and let him concentrate on being the best driver he can possibly be, and success he will have.

1000 post!!! woop woop!!

tbh, we dont like winners, can not handle the concept of winning something!

like saying that Jenson button needs a good car to win, and in the same sentence, say that lewis is only winning, due to a good car.

chrisni1986
30th October 2007, 11:17
hes got talent im not denying that but look at the car hes in for his first season... dont say that hasnt helped ALOT.. take ralph schumacher a few seasons ago.. was in a good car winning gp's and barrichello aswell was up there when in the ferrari... also villenuve when he was with williams winning the world championship.. all now in lower class cars and hardly get a mention.. are they not all as good if not better than hamilton?? i think not.. car has a MASSIVE part to play in the sport and some rookie drivers havent been as fortunate as hamilton to be in a no1 team in their first season..

This is one of the reasons I dislike him. If you're moving to Switzerland for tax reasons, then say so. Don't pretend it's for peace and quiet etc. It's to save £10m a year in tax.

only lewis can tell us this buddy....dont just assume cos all the great potential move away from here, that they are leaving for tax reasons. i.e Andy Murray etc etc

Scattle

Hes done very well considering it was his first here, and with all the pressure of it, maybe he just needs a break, has had a lot of attention.

agree totally mate....its not his fault he got picked by Ron Dennis is it? Not his fault that he approached Ron Dennis. Its not his fault that he is a very very good driver

It's pretty offencive actually that he SAYS he's moving because of the British public. I'd guess that the attention isn't that bad, and I'm really sorry, but if you're going to get paid crazy cash for being in the public eye, you kind of have to put up with it.

Fact is, he's moving to Switzerland as it'll save him 10m quid a year or more, not because of kids at petrol stations. I might actually still respect him a little bit if he'd admit the obvious, were I an F1 driver I'd probably be off right away. Lying and blaming the fans though is low

As Campo is saying its seems a bit sussed that he chose there due to the tax relief....

OK, so you're trying to tell me that, as an F1 driver, he's leaving the UK due to the attention he gets?

Right

He spends no time here, same as he'll spend no time wherever he chooses to live. He goes to 19 or so races a year, all over the world, spending about a week at each. That's 19 weeks of the year. Add to that testing, call it 8 weeks. Now training over the winter? 4 weeks. aThen sponsorship/personal endorsment stuf, another 8 weeks say, you get roughly 39 weeks of the year taken up. 13 weeks left then. Lets chuck in a couple of decent holiday breaks and we're down to about 2 months. That'll be about the free time he'll have to spend in the UK outside personal commitments. Do you stay and give Mr Brown 40% of what you earn (and another 10% in NI) or do you do what every F1 driver for the last 20 years has done and fuck off to a tax haven?

I'm not saying he should stay, or should feel bad about moving there, but blaming the fans, saying that he'd stay if they left him alone? How stupid does he think people are.

Say your going because of the tax issue, don't make the kids who ask for autographs feel bad by lying

his family are getting harrassed everyday, people wanting something to do with Lewis etc.

I can see where your coming from, but, do you not think for one minute he is different from everyone else? in all honesty? he seems different in everything he does.....IMO

spot on,

out of all the places you can go to get away from everything he just happened to pick a tax haven where other F1 drivers have gone.

doesn't rub with me.

if he said I going to move their because I don't want the thieving labour party to nick all my money. I'd applaud

Lewis Hamilton: Billion Doller Man

1. Yes, he does listen to his "people", he is HUGELY managed, more so than any other driver

2. That documentry was pap and featured nothing of any value. Radio 1 DJs taklking (bollocks) about cornering lines?
