Hey guys,

When you logg into a forum or ask IE to store details such as usernames and passwords, does this apply to all users on the pc?

For example if i ticked 'remember me' on sax-p or facebook or myspace or something and my sister logged on same pc but on her account, would it automatically logg her in as me? Or will it ask for the details again?

Need an answer ASAP for work as i only have access to a networked pc.

Cheers:drink:

Dont think so, I use that feature on the pc's at uni and when I log into bebo for example, my details are all still there. I know loads of folk in the labs use bebo so if that was the case then their details would be there when I log in.

Networked or standalone if you have a passworded username then all cookies etc are stored only for your profile :y:

Networked PCs there is more of a risk of foul play though from other users of the network so you gotta decide how critical it is for the password to remain private. Dont go saving bank details ;)

thanks for your replies:

The scenario is we have a Invision Power Board forum at work (Which i manage) and Governors have their own section they can logg into from home. They asked me if their children go on their account and logg onto the website will it logg in as them or only when logged on as the adult ?

if its a different user account on the pc then no way.. but it depends if the person saves and password/ clicks on auto login etc if its the same user account.

say you have a family PC , DAD has own user and his daughter has a user (Normal xp logon screen setup)

Dad does work on his account and saves password / username on a website,

If daughter loggs onto that website will it automatically log her in as him or will no detsails be saved thats what i need to know

CHEERS!

If the daughter logs in to her account, it will ask for a username and password. Those details are saved specifically in the DAD profile.

all users on each pc, netwroked or stand alone have there own userprofile,

So this emans anything froms tored pictures movies, porn, history, username and passwords everything to do with you is saved on your profile, you log off it saves your settings, updates your rpofile, someone logs in it laods there profile and there settings so they get all there picts, cookies, porn etc,

If its saved on the C:\ (which it isnt by default) then other users can access that as the have read acces to the C drive by default, you can block users from this, or ou can set permissions on certain folders/files to allow certain people access certaing files/folders, with it be jst to read them or to be able to create, write and modify ;)
