Not really sure if this is the rite place for this but this is where it will be for now :)
I have a 1.4 westy, i want to mod a car up but not sure becaue in about 10 months i mite get a VTR but then again i might not. i want to mod a car up and make it my own but i dont know if i want to do it to my current car or wait until 10 months so i will have 1yr no claims and vtr will be quicker.
What do you think i should do? either start some mods on my current car or wait till late next year.

If you do things like lights etc, you can then swap the bits over :y:

or, if you love the westy, do it how you want it, then drop a vtr engine in, leave the gearbox, and have a rapid acceleration :)

gearbox is pritty f**ked in it, im pritty sure i will need a new one put in but thats a different story, its really noisy and clunks into gears and it doesnt always go into 1st gear so i pull off sometimes in 2nd when it wont go in :P i should really get it to a garage but i no its gonna cost £300+?

i think the clutch is ok but im not too sure, id have to take it to a garage and find out, i pritty sure its the gearbox tho cos sometimes it goes straight into 1st easy with no problems

either way, do what you cant to the westy, and bang a vtr engine in it when you feel its time for a faster car.
can pick up low milage engines from scrappies from rear end damaged cars for around 200-300 quid, get them out in for another 200 tops :)
and all your gona get different is a different car colour or something.

take your car to garage and they can see what's wrong with it, just do simple mods like lights, alloys, grille, suspension lowering.

Might be worth checking the linkages on the box!
