Here is the 10 things it failed on, would be grateful if anyone can tell me how easy/hard or cheap/expensive it's gonna be? mainly being numbers 4, 7 & 8. number 2 and 3 I have no idea had the same lights tested 3 years and never failed before? Also number 10 is just ridiculous!

1. nearside registration plate lamp not working [1.1.5c]
2. offside (side repeater) direction indicator incorrect colour [1.5.Ald]
3. offside rear direction indicator incorrect colour [1.5Ald]
4. offside front constant velocity joint gaiter insecurely mounted to it's housing [2.5.C.1a]
5. nearside front tyre (bald no problem new tyre)
6. offside front tyre (bald no problem new tyre)
7. offside front suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint [2.4.G.3]
8. nearside rear shock absorber has an excessively worn rubber bush [2.7.4]
9. exhaust system has a major leak of exhaust gases [7.1.2a]
10. rear (bumber) body insecure and dangerous to other road users [6.1.2b]

shouldnt be too much, to be honest i find it cheaper to get them to fix it before they give me it back, that way i cant break anything else, and dont have to pay for another mot, and you know they dont miss anything to get done :)

Yea but I'm not sure I trust this garage don't even know why I went there I got a free re-test within 10 days luckily I know i good mechanic but before it went in for the MOT there were strange noises especially under braking (but no brake fails!!!). Mainly numbers 4, 7 and 8 I have not a clue what it is or how much 'roughly' it will damage the pockets!

2&3 i take it you have aftermarket lights? Swap for standard lights.

4: Check the clips and if necessary get new clip from citroen or wherever and fit it to the one thats buggered

7: Replace the ball joint, not expensive if done yourself and not mega expensive to get done. New ball joint will be 20 odd quid, remove the wishbone, remove old ball joint and have new one pressed in.

8: replace rear shock not sure you can get the bushes on their own

lol, wasn't aware of the tyres and didn't notice the sound, had a de-cat on it, full peco duplex system, janspeed manifold, CDA air box so always sounded like it was blowing, took the de-cat off obviously day before MOT didn't notice the hole in exhaust, that aint a problem really got spare bits for the exhaust system

1. nearside registration plate lamp not working [1.1.5c]

50p max to replace and you fit it yourself

2. offside (side repeater) direction indicator incorrect colour [1.5.Ald]

im taking it you have clear indicator lenses and have put a white bulb in. replace it with an orange one - 50p max

3. offside rear direction indicator incorrect colour [1.5Ald]

replace it with an orange one - 50p max

4. offside front constant velocity joint gaiter insecurely mounted to it's housing [2.5.C.1a]

is this your CV boot? if so £15 for a new rubber and grease

5. nearside front tyre (bald no problem new tyre)

6. offside front tyre (bald no problem new tyre)

7. offside front suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint [2.4.G.3]

new ball joint - part £7 labour £30 max

8. nearside rear shock absorber has an excessively worn rubber bush [2.7.4]

new shocker at wosrt £35, or just new rubber £10

9. exhaust system has a major leak of exhaust gases [7.1.2a]

where from? just replace the bit that its leaking from

10. rear (bumber) body insecure and dangerous to other road users [6.1.2b]

screw it back inplace or replace the clips - £3 for clips

So 4 & 7 sound cheap and easy what we talking for a rear shock?

In response to the lights, yes all light are aftermarket, but they have never failed before same lights all round for past 3 previous tests!

is i the same people that tested it this time as in the past? if not then it could be that these are more strict than the others.
