View Full Version : bonnet raisers fitted, bonnet not on the piss anymore

got my bonnet raisers fitted tonight, tho it was in the dark and i did it on my own (so didn't help).

but the bonnet now doesn't sit right. before, the gaps between bonnet and wings were equal both sides and the corners of the bonnet lined up with the front corners of the wings and also sat at the same height above the lights both sides.

now its all shot to bits.

looking head on, the gap from bonnet to wing is bigger on the right (passenger) side and also the corner of the bonnet sits behind the corner of the wing and there's a big gap between the bonnet and light, whereas the left (drivers) side is the opposite.

any help or advise?

Dont worry, mine is the same but thats because i drove into a Vectra..

Id just look at it in the morning mate, more than likely youll be able to tell whats wrong with it in the light

i was impressed tho, i did it on my own in the dark with a £1 tourch keyring.

i don't like it tho, it looks uneven and wrong (mine that is, not yours)

should sit how it did without the raisers on, tho i will sort it tomorrow, hopefully.

if there any slack in the raiser where the bolt goes through you might just wanna adjust that as they could be pulling one of the hnges over more

look good, but not got a pic.

just lifts the back edage up an inch, but with the frame it leaves that low enought so you cant see in from the side.

get a ruler mate (do it in day time tho LOL)

and from the top of the bonnet go downwards with the ruler and if it goes all the way down to the lights then its in line if it stops half way then you know it needs to be moved slightly its best to have two people when messing with a bonnet tbh.

yeah i know mate.

thing is, i've been bugging my dad to get these done, so just wanted them on, then when they were on i was pissed that it didn't sit right.

also, don't really get what you mean about the ruler thing!!!

you bent the hinges when you did it on your own more than likely as i fitted mine on my own and bent the hinges and the binnet isnt centred anymore.

Wouldnt let cloud or ash see that pic those swirls are aweful lol. The bonnet looks good though mate nice one! Get some more pics up. :y:
