I parked on a hill other week and when i came back to my car i noticed a slight damp patch just behind passenger side front wheel, i paniced a bit then fort it was just water just dipping off car and now every now and then i notice a patch of what seems to be brake fluid. my brakes are quite spungy come to think of it and i have to press the pedal now quite far, and i keep checkin the level which seems to be getting slightly lower by the week. I dont know if i have cracked a line or if a nut is loose not sure what else it could be? do go to any machanics garage or citroen? im just worried that my brakes are going to just fail on me soon. help!

hya mate, like you said bleed screw could be loose, check that, youll have flexi hoses, wich perish over time mayb that, or maybe calliper piston seals, theres two a dust seal then the actual brake fluid seal hope this helps

get it checked soon mate

As Pepper has said, please get it sorted. Drive it to your local garage and get it fixed if you are not confident to do a full diagnosis and repair. The thought of losing your primary braking ability should be a powerful incentive to get it fixed.

Now before all the keyboard Schumachers come along and spout on about "engine braking" and "handbraking" I'd ask them to think about performing an emergency stop - I guarantee they will blitz the middle pedal and carry on blitzing it without even thinking about other methods of stopping.

Oh, and I'd go with the bleed nut.

Take care.

probably is a broken rubber pipe, no problem with that. as long as you have braking fluid in your deposit you wont be out of brakes, but it could be dangereous if you need to kick the pedal a little bit harder, the car will try do "turn" because the breaks are unbalanced. You should see as fast as you can, you never know when you going to need to brake seriuosly.

by the way, for all the ppl that read this post be advised that the braking fluid must be changed more or less in 2 and 2 years. why? because the rubber pipes arenīt impermiable, they can absorve humidity and that humidity goes into the pipes. consequences: breaking pipes, breaking pistons wreked up. the reason is the cavitation of the water inside the pipes.
